Gardner Denver is one of the most important suppliers in America and worldwide of various types of industrial equipment and related parts. The company owns more than 30 manufacturing facilities distributed in several countries around the world, such as North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and offices in 35 countries.

The wide range offered by the company includes rotary and sliding screw compressors, blowers, vacuum and transport tools. They also produce ring pumps and systems for power generation, environmental protection, petrochemical industry, paper production and various other industrial applications. Pumps and equipment for fluid transfer are mainly used for drilling, maintenance and production of oil wells.

Gardner Denver was founded in 1859 by Robert Gardner and it was originally specialized in speed controls for steam engines, a sector which contributed to the development of the production of other industrial products - such as compressors.

In 1927 Gardner Governor Company merged with the Denver Rock Drill Company, changing the name in Gardner-Denver. In the post-war period, the company grew up thanks to a number of acquisitions, including those of Keller Tool Company and Cyclo Blower Company in the 1950s, a manufacturer of fans and helical screws. In 1973 the company moved its headquarters to Dallas and at the end of the decade it was bought by Cooper Industries.

The incredible expansion of Gardner Denver around the world, which has led it to become a world leader in the production of compressed air systems, is mainly due to the spread of car and the boom in the oil sector in America.
